Rachel Metcalf - Senior Shaman, Yoga Teacher & Nature-Aligned Healer
Proud ally of Natcha Ceremonial Cacao

Home & Roots — A Northern Heart, A Global Spirit

Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, Rachel carries the warmth of a Geordie welcome wherever she goes. Weekends find her roaming the North-East coastline, yet a second heartbeat drums in the wild forests and turquoise lakes of Canada, homeland of her paternal line. These twin landscapes—urban vibrancy and untamed wilderness—shape Rachel’s medicine.

Community — The Web That Holds Us

From family Sunday roasts to yoga circles on sandy beaches, Rachel thrives in community. Some tribes remain, others evolve, yet each—local or international—has taught her the power of celebration, honest conversation and collective care.

Yoga, Forest School & The Call of Nature

At 15 she unrolled her first yoga mat; by 2015 she was a certified Forest-School practitioner, guiding city children to build dens, track wildlife and respect the Earth. A 200-hour teacher training in Bali (Zuna Yoga) deepened her love of anatomy, mantra and meditation, and today she teaches everything from therapeutic yin to playful mandala flow—often outdoors where sea-spray replaces studio air-con.

Cacao — The Heart-Opening Ally

A meditation circle with teacher Deborah Seth-Jackson introduced Rachel to ceremonial cacao. Guided by a shaman, she learnt how this gentle plant medicine coaxes buried stories to the surface, dissolving fear with tenderness. After tearful releases—and a powerful sense of being seen and heard—she felt called to share cacao’s embrace with others.

“Cacao reminds us that vulnerability is strength in motion.” — Rachel

Warriors of Light — Walking the Inca Medicine Wheel

2023 Rachel entered the Warriors of Light programme with Dr Esther Lim & Deborah Seth-Jackson, receiving the 12 Munay Ki Rites of Inca shamanism (lineage of Alberto Villoldo). Graduating a year later, she gained her shamanic name Inchipala—‘Firefly Medicine Woman’—and is now journeying a second turn around the wheel, polishing each rite like a luminous wing.

Energy Medicine & Modern Offerings

As a Senior Shaman, Rachel weaves talking-circle work, practical life design and energetic extraction/illumination to restore balance in body, mind and spirit. Clients leave lighter, clearer and equipped with tools to tend their own light. Sessions may include breath-work, sound, despacho rituals and—of course—Natcha cacao to anchor the heart.

Love & The Shaman Couple

In 2023 love arrived in the form of fellow shaman Afnan (Shaman name: Yanaki). Together they steward cacao & sound-scape ceremonies, yin–yang yoga sessions and seasonal retreats. Their teachers call them “a duo destined to seed peace.”

Author in the Making — ‘The Adventures of Rae’

Child-like wonder never left Rachel; it simply found voice in storytelling. Her forthcoming children’s series The Adventures of Rae blends yoga animals, shaman wisdom and garden escapades—teaching emotional intelligence through play. Watch this space; the Firefly now writes by starlight.

Way of Life — Dancing in Beauty

Yoga mat, cacao cup, sea swell, sunrise: Rachel’s daily rhythm. She walks the shaman path not as a weekend workshop but as an every-breath practice—grateful, grounded, radiant. Her mission is simple: help others remember their own light so the world may glow a little brighter.
